Cost Accountant

Requirements:

  • Provide accurate and timely pricing to Sales organization through utilization of Corporate Costing Model
  • Provide margin analysis and pricing assessments for all customer RFQs
  • Provide updates on Market Segment Pricing Summary
  • Develop up-charges for pigmentation and order volume pricing
  • Manage the hand-off of new or revised approved pricing to Accounting
  • Provide ongoing updates on Customer and Product Profitability analysis
  • Maintain competitor pricing data base
  • Improve analytical tools for measuring product costs and profitability, such as the Corporate Costing Model, Customer and Product Profitability Model, and Market Segment Pricing Summary model

Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Designation or currently enrolled in program
  • University Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 2 years experience in pricing and margin analysis in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail oriented and able to accurately manage large amounts of data
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, with desire to understand financial implications of new technologies and processes
  • Ability to multi task
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with Sales and Engineering functions
  • Able to work independently with little supervision

Finance Manager - Manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Generating timely and accurate management reports and financial statements
  • Designing and producing financial and cost analysis aligned with the goals and objectives of the Company and the safeguarding of its assets
  • Supporting and driving improvement in the Manufacturing operation
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Contribution to forecasting and annual planning processes
  • Compile and steward: forecasting, planning, analysis for a business division
  • Undertake timely and accurate analysis of cash flow requirements
  • Maintain effective cross-functional communication to optimize asset utilization, process improvement and resource allocation within the department and across the organization
  • Contribute to preparation and analysis of annual financial statements for the Company
  • Assist with annual audit process and external reviews
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Proactively generate business improvement ideas and drive execution of improvements across functions
  • Lead, drive and participate in a variety of projects or initiatives as identified by management and the operations, e.g. cost reduction initiatives
  • Implement improvements to reporting, operational effectiveness (including greater use of the ERP system), transactions processing, and compliance
  • Help to ensure that all Finance employees are effective in their roles and have the opportunity to be developed for future advancement. 
  • Undertaking tasks and assignments as required by the Director of Finance or CFO.

Requirements:

  • A University degree
  • A Canadian professional accounting designation
  • 2-3 years post-designation experience in manufacturing, project management, construction, or field services industries.
  • Strong understanding with ERP systems (Visual ERP preferred).
  • Superior analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Microsoft Access or SQL experience is also valued.

Cost Accountant (2)

Responsibilities:
  • Create Item Master and affiliated records for all new Molded and Printed inventory items
  • Develop routings to allocate labour and overhead costs to inventory items
  • Ensure purchased items are costed accurately
  • Revalue actual inventory costs monthly based on resin pricing
  • Maintain a record of PCNs for changes in tool master, routings and inventory items
  • Review purchase price variances for monthly reporting
  • Work on project to develop better labour efficiency analysis
  • Provide accurate and timely pricing to Sales organization through utilization of Corporate Costing Model
  • Provide ongoing updates on Market Segment Pricing Summary
  • Develop up-charges for pigmentation and order volume pricing
  • Review and recommend annual changes to the Corporate Costing Model cost inputs
  • Manage the hand-off of new or revised approved pricing to Accounting
  • Responsible for keeping a record of both hard and soft copies of customers confidential proposals
  • Lead, facilitate or participate in specific CI projects.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture.

Requirements:

  • Accounting designation (CMA, CGA) and/or equivalent University education
  • Experience in product cost analysis in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office (especially Excel) knowledge required
  • Familiarity with a mainframe (e.g. AS400) platform would be preferred
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and investigation skills
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing would be an asset
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, and ensure assignments are completed on time
